I have shared this before, but I truly enjoy doing dishes by hand. The warm water is relaxing, it reminds me of doing dishes with my brothers, and I believe the dishes are cleaner. I have a regular drainboard that sits on the counter, but usually I use the dishwasher as a drainboard. It is spacious and I can close the door and don’t have to see them while they dry. A very good friend and mentor of mine is a foster parent. She currently has eight boys in her home under the age of 15. She has often talked to me about becoming a foster parent and I always had a list of “buts” for her. If you have children then you know the amount of noise that can come from the backseat of your car. Often it is annoying because someone is looking at someone back there, breathing their air, or crossing the invisible line separating them. I am not a big fan of roses. They seem to die so quickly and there are the thorns to contend with.
